A World with 400 Hooters
New Switzerland location donates 10,000 sfrs to Tsunami Relief Fund
ATLANTA, July 1 /PRNewswire/ --
On June 26th, Hooters, the worldwide
sensation, opened its 400th location -- in Switzerland. The new
store, located in Thun, is the third location in Switzerland and the
34th international location for the chain. Hooters plans to open
over 70 new locations through 2005; 19 of which are located outside
the US.
When a Hooters location opens, a portion of their opening day sales
is donated to a worthy organization or cause; in this case, Hooters
of Thun took a portion of their sales and made a contribution to the
Tsunami Relief Fund. The Hooters Franchise Owner, Mr. Kirchhofer,
then upped the amount to 10,000 sfrs (equivalent to about $7,713)."We are very happy to be able to bring the Hooters concept of food
and fun outside the US and intend on being active within our
community. This contribution is a great way to start," stated
Kirchhofer.
Hooters currently has locations in 16 countries including Brazil,
China, Canada, Venezuela, England and Singapore with plans to expand
into 10 additional countries by the end of this year. The next
international opening is slated for Peru next month. "Our main focus
right now is on franchising into new international markets, which
fit well with our concept," stated John Weber, Executive Vice
President of Franchising for Hooters of America.
