ALPHAGRAPHICS RESPONDS TO KATRINA BY RALLYING SUPPORT FOR LOCAL OWNER
AlphaGraphics, Inc. and Individual Owners Come Together to Provide Aid
September 7, 2005 (SALT LAKE CITY) – AlphaGraphics, Inc., a leader in the visual communications industry, that the company has established an AlphaGraphics Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. The fund, which has already raised more than $50,000, has been established to help New Orleans AlphaGraphics owner Ayaz Korejo, his family and staff recover from the effects of Hurricane Katrina. AlphaGraphics and its nearly 300 locations worldwide will also make donations to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to help support other families affected by the tragedy.
“Hurricane Katrina has devastated the lives, homes and businesses of so many, including a valued member of our AlphaGraphics family,” said AlphaGraphics, Inc. CEO Kevin K. Cushing. “The AlphaGraphics franchise network is comprised of caring people who are committed to assisting the Korejos and others in this time of unimaginable devastation and need. Our goal is to raise $60,000, relying solely on the contributions of our AlphaGraphics team members. In addition, many of our franchisees will establish their own local fund-raising programs.”
AlphaGraphics franchise owners from around the world will be making donations to the relief fund. The first use of funds will be to assist Ayaz Korejo, his family and staff, with the balance given to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The New Orleans AlphaGraphics, as well as the Korejos’ home, is located in an area of the city that has sustained tremendous damage. Other AlphaGraphics business centers in the region have experienced major inconveniences, including multi-day power outages, but have returned to normal operations.
